Continuing Glen Park Beautiful’s work to improve the green space at the school-side base of the Bosworth Pedestrian Bridge, neighbors gathered in the Saturday morning sun to clear weeds and spread a layer of cardboard and mulch. San Francisco Public Works coordinated the sign up of volunteers as part of its District 8 Neighborhood Beautification Day and sent a crew the day before to do the heavy work of removing the ivy from this large bed by the Glen Park School. Volunteers broke down and prepped neighbor-donated cardboard, coordinated a bucket brigade to distribute the mulch, and raked the area to an even finish. Raphael Mandelman stopped by to admire the progress of the work. Next up: deciding what to plant!
