Volunteer

We’d love to work side by side with you to create and maintain our community’s public art and green spaces. There are three ways to get involved - learn more and let us know how you’d like to help out!

one-time Volunteer opportunities

We host occasional community events - artmaking, gardening days, community input sessions, celebrations, and more. We welcome help from the community in planning and hosting these events, as well as participation as day-of volunteers.

Typically, we benefit from 3-4 helpers per event and responsibilities could include: posting/removing flyers, event set up, and event clean up. We reach out to our volunteer crew when events are upcoming and invite sign up by email or using Eventbrite.

On-going Volunteer opportunities

garden stewardship

Take an on-going role to maintain the green spaces around our public art installations. Join our team of garden stewards to help keep them looking their best. Tasks may include cutting back ivy, weeding, and watering, among other duties. This is a commitment of 1-2 hours, 1-2 times per month, and can be done at times that suit your schedule.

art stewardship

Our neighborhood is lucky to be home to several public art installations, but they all need periodic TLC. Join our team of art stewards to help clean and maintain these treasures. Tasks may include sweeping the Burnside tiled steps, cutting back/removing ivy encroaching on the Burnside mural, keeping areas around the Bosworth pedestrian bridge clean, and informing Glen Park Beautiful of any concerns such as graffiti or other damage to the artworks, among other duties. This is a commitment of 1-2 hours per month and can be done at times that suit your schedule.
