Back by popular demand, SF Stairway Month 2026 will offer two stairway-centric walks.  On October 18th, San Francisco City Guides will take walkers up the iconic Filbert and Greenwich Steps. On October 24th, the 3rd annual “Truly Terrific: Tiled to Tiled Stairway Walk,” will include an 8-mile route that starts at the iconic Lincoln Steps and a 5.5-mile alternative.  SF Stairway 2026’s grand finale on October 27th: a book talk by Mary Burk (Stairway Walks in San Francisco) and show of Alex Kenin's map of the city's 900+ stairways at Bird & Beckett, Glen Park’s legendary bookstore (and live jazz venue).
